The Government of Gibraltar has gazetted the "Employment (Annual and Public Holidays) (Amendment) Order 2022" (Legal Notice No. 115 of 2022, Gazette No. 4958), which amends the current public holidays legislation in Gibraltar, effective last week ("This Order is deemed to have come into operation on 27th April 2022").

The aforementioned "Employment (Annual and Public Holidays) (Amendment) Order 2022" amends paragraph 2 of the "Employment (Annual and Public Holidays) Order" by redefining the term "public holiday to mean "New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, the Monday immediately following the day appointed for the celebration of Her Majesty’s Birthday, Spring Bank Holiday, Late Summer Bank Holiday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day" or "any other day appointed by the Government to be a public or bank holiday in accordance with section 58 of the Interpretation and General Clauses Act or in accordance with section 2(3) of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act" or "such other days as may in accordance with subparagraph (2) of this paragraph be substituted for such days".

The list of 2022 public holidays in Gibraltar was originally announced (2021-10-21) in the "Bank And Public Holidays Order 2021" (LN. 2021/431), but it was later amended (2022-01-20) as per the "Bank and Public Holidays (Amendment) Order 2022" (Legal Notice No. 6 of 2022).
