The Indonesian government has issued the expected Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Religion No.375 of 2022, the Minister of Manpower No.1 of 2022, and the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform No.1 of 2022, approving joint leave public holidays (cuti bersama) for the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr 1443 AH.

The aforementioned joint decree was signed by the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziah, and the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Tjahjo Kumolo.

That Joint Leave Decree had been expected since yesterday, when the Indonesian government finally approved an extended period of joint leave for the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr 1443 AH (2022-04-06), thus amending the initially-released list of 2022 public holidays in Indonesia (2021-09-22).

The cuti bersama were introduced after the 2002 Bali bombings (2002-11-07) to promote internal tourism as a means to compensate diminishing foreign tourism.
