Jordanian Prime Minister, Bisher Al-Khasawneh, has announced 3 upcoming official public holidays for Christians who work for the public sector and public universities on the occasion of Palm Sunday and Easter.

Today's aforementioned declaration of April 17, 24 and 25, is in addition to the list of official non-working public holidays and bank holidays in Jordan for the calendar year 2022, as released last autumn (2021-11-08).

Jordan has often declared such Easter-related holidays in the past (2021-04-20, 2018-03-29, 2017-04-06, 2016-04-16, 2015-04-10 and 2015-03-27), based on a 2012 decision by cabinet that Palm Sunday and Easter be declared as official non-working public holidays for Christians at "ministries, government departments and public institutions".
