The government of Sierra Leone has declared Friday, February 18, 2022, as a public holiday on account of the upcoming Armed Forces Day.
Recall that on February 18, 2002, the then president of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, declared the end of the 11-year civil war and that henceforth, February 18 would be a national public holiday.
The declaration of Friday, February 18, 2022, as a public holiday is in line with the list of official non-working public holidays in Sierra Leone for the calendar year 2022, as announced by the government of Sierra Leone, late last year (2021-12-20).
