The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan has posted a legal information notice reminding the population that, as per the decree "On the establishment of additional non-working days during the celebration of official dates and the transfer of days off in 2022", March 22 and 23, 2022, would be additional public holidays in Uzbekistan.

Today's announcement follows last month's signature by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the decree "On the preparation and holding of the national holiday Navruz in 2022" (О подготовке и проведении всенародного праздника Навруз в 2022 году) which formally extended the duration of the Navruz public holidays to March 19-23, 2022, inclusively (2022-02-18).

Last year, an earlier decree, the decree "On the establishment of additional non-working days during the celebration of official dates and the transfer of days off in 2022", had already added a mixture of mid-week public holidays around Navruz and the End of Ramadan, as well as some bridge public holidays (2021-12-13).
