The Vietnamese Government Office has approved the plan proposed by Vietnam's Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), for the official list of Vietnamese public holiday in the calendar year 2022, as released in draft form last month.

The aforementioned decision is in line last month's proposal (2021-12-04) by Vietnam's Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), proposing that there be no swapping of public holidays in 2021 around the Tet Vietnamese New Year annual public holidays of Vietnam, once again (2020-09-15, 2019-10-25, 2019-10-10, 2019-09-14, 2019-08-28, 2019-07-22, and 2019-05-03).

As per the revised new Labour Code (2010-03-22 and 2009-11-16), adopted at the third session of the 13th National Assembly (2012-06-21), and which took effect on May 1st, 2013, the annual Tet Vietnamese non-working public holidays were extended from 4 to 5 days and, as was the case some years (2018-07-12 and 2015-10-15) but not all (2016-11-21, 2014-11-12 and 2013-12-05).
