Zimbabwe's Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Kazembe Kazembe, has gazetted the annual announcement of the dates for the 2023 non-working public holidays in Zimbabwe in the General Notice 468 of 2022 ("GN 2022-468 Public Holidays And Prohibition Of Business Act For 2023").

The aforementioned General Notice 468 begins with the preamble " IT is hereby declared that, in terms of section 2(1) of the Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act [Chapter 10:21], the days listed in the schedule will be public holidays in 2023. The list does not include any days which the President may declare to be public holidays in terms of section 2(2) of the Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act [Chapter 10:21].".

The list of 2023 public holidays in Zimbabwe, as usual (2021-04-30, 2020-10-03, 2019-09-30, 2018-09-22, 2017-09-02, 2016-09-18, 2015-08-31, 2014-07-28, 2013-06-29, 2013-02-04 and 2012-08-01), does not include any special public holidays that the President has the power to declare, but does include the recently-added public holiday on February 21 (2017-08-19, 2018-02-20 and 2017-11-22), now named National Youth Day.

A day in lieu public holiday is listed on Monday, January 2, 2023, due to New Year's Day falling on a Sunday. Note that General Notice 468 contains a typo, listing Boxing Day on "Sunday, 26th December, 2023".
