Specific comments on events of the Christian calendar

The Christian dates presented above are for the events of the Christian calendar with moveable dates. These do not include events which always occur on the same date every year (such as Christmas, Epiphany, and all the Saint's name days).  Note that Epiphany Sunday holds the distinction of being the only weekday festival that can be transferred to a Sunday before its date instead of the Sunday after, which is the usual practice for transferring (link).
