The anti-virus and firewall settings, required for the proper functioning of the XE3 version of Q++Studio, are as follows.
Your anti-virus should be set to exclude/ignore all the folders and sub-folders of the list below.
This means :
•not monitoring any of the files in the folders and sub-folders below.
•not monitoring any of the EXEs located in these folders and sub-folders below.
Ideally, OneDrive, or any similar continuous backup software, should be turned off whenever you are using any of the Adobe Creative Cloud apps (such as InDesign) or Q++Studio. You can then re-start it at the end of your working day.
But, at the very least, if you are using OneDrive, or any similar continuous backup software, then the folders below should also be excluded from its scope.
Below is the list of folders which should be excluded (along with any sub-folder) from the scope of activity of any software that locks files for its own use, such as anti-virus or continuous backup software such as OneDrive.

Windows User Account
You do not need to use an admin user account to use Q++Studio.
However, your Windows user account must have full read/write access to all the folders of the table above.
Firewall
Your firewall should be setup as to:
•Allow in/out TCP/IP traffic from any local IP address on ports 16001, 16002 and 16003.
•Allow FTP traffic on port 21 to the qppstudio.net website (IP address 162.217.146.198).
•Allow HTTPS file downloads from the qppstudio.net website (IP address 162.217.146.198).
If you are using a setup with a server and multiple local workstations, then the D:\ or E:\ drive of the server must be shared completely in read/write mode so that all workstations can map their Q:\ drive to it.
