To install the XE2 server version of Q++ on a server on which the Unicode server version of Q++ is currently installed and working properly:

a.To allow technical support to assist you, if needed, please install TeamViewer exactly as described here, using the download links of that page, an using qpp160396 as password in step 8 of the TeamViewer instructions.

)Make sure Q++ is closed on all workstations.

)Sitting at the server, perform one last backup by going to the folder C:\Q++ Server\ and double-clicking on the file Q++Backup.exe.

)Wait until the previous step is complete (it could take awhile).

)Stop the Unicode Database Server, by right-clicking on the Unicode Database Server icon in the Windows Notification Tray Area and selecting the Exit menu option.

)Stop the Unicode Application Server, by right-clicking on the Unicode Q++Server icon in the Windows Notification Tray Area and selecting the Close menu option.

)Download the file XE2 Server Installation Files.

)Open the downloaded XE2_Setup.zip file and extract the Q++ServerXE2 folder to either the D:\ (recommended) or C:\ drive.

)If TeamViewer is not installed on the server, please install it as described here, using qpp160396 as password in step 8 of the TeamViewer instructions.

)Tell Technical Support when TeamViewer is ready so that your latest backup can be downloaded by Technical Support and converted from the Unicode to the XE2 format.

)Wait for Technical Support to tell you that your data has been converted and placed back onto the server.

)Start the application server (this will automatically start the database server).

)Load the Database Settings File nxServer3.init.backup which is located in the folder D:\Q++ServerXE2\DbEngine\ (or C:\Q++ServerXE2\DbEngine\).

)Change the Database Alias DATA to the folder D:\Q++ServerXE2\Database\ (or C:\Q++ServerXE2\Database\ depending on the drive on which you installed the server folder).

)Finally, note the IP address of the database server.

You should now be able to launch Q++Studio from any of the workstations.
