Property of the ScriptLine : Pre-Processing.

Usually, this property is false, and Q++ generates the diary output file corresponding to the current script as one single file. This is the default and should rarely be changed.

There are however cases where this monolithic generation causes a marked slowdown in diary generation which can usually be seen during the Generating Templates Pages step of diary generation (progress from 95% to 100% becomes extremely slow).

This will usually happen if the diary contains more than 300 pages approximately and if the individual pages are complex (dotted rules seem to play an important role).

A good rule of thumb is that if diary generation takes more than 4 minutes, then you should try to generate your diary with this option set to true.

If this property of a script is set to true, Q++ will generate the output file for that diary in many steps, each producing a sub-file of 32 pages and then collate these separate files into a final one at the end of diary generation. For smaller diaries (less than 300 pages) using QuarkXPress 4, this process is often slower than the alternative, but with larger diaries and/or the use of QuarkXPress 5, setting this property to true can speed up the diary of some diaries significantly.

During diary generation, Q++ monitors the speed at which QuarkXPress processes its commands, and will issue a message that suggests that you set this property to true if it thinks it is appropriate.
