Output Filename is longer than XXX characters

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Cause : The output file name for the current script is longer than 199 characters (Windows XP) or 248 characters (Windows 7 or above). This causes a myriad of problems, and particularly if you plan on moving the output file back to a Macintosh.

Consequences : You must shorten the filename before you can generate a diary.

Solutions :

Let Q++ generate an output filename : Generates a composite file name. Before using this option, make sure you have set the language(s) and year properties, so that the name generated by Q++ is menaingful.

Set the output filename yourself  : Sets this property to edit mode so you can set a file name yourself.
