This usually occurs because you are using Quark master pages. Using Master pages in your GridTemplates is not recommended because each new version of QuarkXPress changes the way that master pages are handled internally which means that GridTemplates that contain master pages may not work in subsequent version of QuarkXPress
Use the Master Pages Property property to try some of the known workarounds to master pages problems.
