[so] : Solstice and Equinoxes Tokens

There is a direct correspondence between the Equinoxes and Solstices (spring, summer, fall, winter) and the entry of the Sun into Zodiac signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). The usefulness of seasons tokens is to be able to only display solstices and equinoxes (not all 12 Zodiac dates) and possibly to display these in one part of the page, and the Zodiac changes in another part of the page of a diary.

 

The tokens available to display solstices and equinoxes are :

 

[so]

Solstice/Equinox Symbol : displays a character, usually from a decorative font such as Wingdings, which represents the current season. This token is rarely used.

[son]

Solstice/Equinox Name : displays the name of the solstice or equinox that is beginning on the date of the token.

[sot]

Solstice/Equinox Time : displays the time at which the solstice or equinox occurred. You can add an h or an m to this token to only display the hours or minutes part of the time.

 

 

The calculations used for these tokens are based on the location specified by the Sun Data Source property. If more than one source is selected, you can specify which source to use by appending a digit that corresponds to that source's position in the list of selected sources. The suffixes h and m can also be used to display the hour and minutes part of the time only, and are placed between the token and the digit.

 

To specify how each of the above tokens is displayed (am/pm or 24 hours, names of the solstice or equinox), use the Moon and Sun Options property. These tokens are all converted to a blank on any day when no solstice or equinox occurs.

Note how the above example also makes use of filler tokens to only display the text at on days when a solstice or equinox occurs.
