Using [GenTokens] inside Minicalendars

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Placing [GenTokens] tokens in the same textbox, and following, a minicalendar marker allows you to display complex monthly calendars, within a daily or weekly grid.

In the above example, the previous month, the current one, and the 2 that follow, are displayed using shading for dates in the current week, and space after each Sunday. This is achieved by the following simple token setup.

The specific options to use to achieve the shading and paragraph separation effect are covered in the topic on GenTokens Options. What is important here, is that the DayValue of each of the [GenTokens] is the same, 1. When using GenTokens within minicalendars, the 2 tokens split the work amongst themselves. The minicalendar marker changes the date of embedded tokens to the first of the month, and the [GenToken] is responsible for displaying that month (in essence replacing the usual minicalendar weekday headers, week numbers and day markers).
