Master pages in InDesign Output Files

When generating a diary using InDesign and the default disambiguate master pages generation option, the pages of the generated diary output file look as shown in the image on the right.

 

Note that the disambiguate master pages generation option or application preference, overrides any value chosen for the keep master pages' vignette names generation option

 

Referring to the image on the right:

 

The master pages of the individual templates are recreated in the output file. Here the master page A of template id 11307 is recreated as master page T.

Then, page 3 of  template id 11307, based on master page A of template 11307, becomes the master page Y which is based on the master page T discussed above.

 

The actual pages of the generated diary are then each based on one of the master pages whose name of the form Page XX of ..., as is the case for page 78 on the right which is based on master page Y, itself based on master page T.
