Objects with negative X positions on right pages may not appear properly

If you have a 2 page template with some objects of the right-hand page having a negative x-position, then you may encounter problems when generating a diary, because QuarkXPress or InDesign will assume that the object actually belongs to the left page (based on its top-left corner position).

 

You may, at the very least have these objects appear below or above the objects z-order positions in which is was in the template.

 

The solution is usually to layout the template pages each on an individual spread instead of side-by-side. This will have no effect at diary generation, even if you choose to facing pages output, but will ensure that objects remain with the pages they are mean to belong to.
