This scanning message appears in a textbox where there are 2 opening square brackets [ that occur before any closing square bracket that would match the first opening square bracket.

 

For example:

  [[1d] [1Dddd]

or:

  [1mc+04:Z~6[a1mmmm]

If you do not see the offending square bracket, it may be because you are using a special font (such as holidays boxes) where the square bracket characters are replaced by another character.

 

If you wish to use text containing actual square brackets, make sure you add an underscore to each square bracket, [_ and _], to specify that the text contained is not a token.
