This QuarkXPress processing message occurs when trying to BOXFIT or BOXGROW or use a macro which includes a call to one of the textbox resizing functions on a textbox whose shape is not bounded by a rectangle.

 

Note that "a textbox whose shape is bounded by a rectangle" does not mean that only pure rectangular boxes can be used with BOXFIT or BOXGROW or macros which include calls to one of the textbox resizing functions.

 

The image on the right shows all the allowed textbox shapes, ranging from purely rectangular to ovals.
