This topic covers the implementation details of TBleedOptions.

Scope: TypeDefinitions.pas; record. Prepared from the curated implementation supplied for this review on 2 October 2026.

UseBleed gates Top, Bottom, Left and Right. The writer uses Round(value×100), and the reader divides by 100. The physical unit must be confirmed from the PDF options UI/consumer.

The enabled reader uses a temporary integer that is not seeded before every read. ReadNodeValue leaves a destination unchanged when the element is missing, so provide all four sides when enabling bleed to avoid uninitialized or carried-over buffer values.

Notation and shared helper rules: Reading this reference.

XML identity and composition

Literal rec_type values emitted within these routines: TBleedOptions. Nested values may belong to child wrappers rather than this owner itself; the attribute entries below give their exact locations.

Exact XML fields and attributes

The paths below start at this record or property node. A slash identifies a child element; @ identifies an attribute. Curly braces mark a variable index or expression, not literal XML text. Initial values describe initialization; they do not establish what an omitted individual element does. The Implementation toggle below contains the supplied routines for exact branch order and conversions.

UseBleed

XML representation: The text of the UseBleed element.

Reading: Reads the element into UseBleed when the record node exists.

Writing: Stores true or false according to UseBleed whenever the writer reaches this field.

Top

XML representation: The text of the Top element.

Reading: Reads the stored number, divides it by 100.0, and assigns the result to Top when the record node exists; UseBleed is true.

Writing: Stores Top multiplied by 100, then rounded to an integer when UseBleed is true.

Bottom

XML representation: The text of the Bottom element.

Reading: Reads the stored number, divides it by 100.0, and assigns the result to Bottom when the record node exists; UseBleed is true. The temporary numeric value starts at XML value of Top if supplied; helper missing-node behavior unconfirmed before reading.

Writing: Stores Bottom multiplied by 100, then rounded to an integer when UseBleed is true.

Left

XML representation: The text of the Left element.

Reading: Reads the stored number, divides it by 100.0, and assigns the result to Left when the record node exists; UseBleed is true. The temporary numeric value starts at XML value of Bottom if supplied; helper missing-node behavior unconfirmed before reading.

Writing: Stores Left multiplied by 100, then rounded to an integer when UseBleed is true.

Right

XML representation: The text of the Right element.

Reading: Reads the stored number, divides it by 100.0, and assigns the result to Right when the record node exists; UseBleed is true. The temporary numeric value starts at XML value of Left if supplied; helper missing-node behavior unconfirmed before reading.

Writing: Stores Right multiplied by 100, then rounded to an integer when UseBleed is true.

@rec_type

XML representation: The rec_type attribute.

Writing: Stores the literal text “TBleedOptions” whenever the writer reaches this field.

Initialization and reset values

This type has no separate initializer in the supplied code. Its starting values come from its enclosing object, inherited initialization, or existing state. Relevant enclosing initializers are identified below.

Enclosing initialization contexts

The following enclosing routines establish or override this record’s starting values. Follow the owner link for the complete initializer. Different enclosing objects can supply different defaults.

TPdfPagesAttr.Initialize initializes this record through its enclosing type; its source appears in a separate Enclosing initialization toggle below.

Storage declarations relevant to interpretation

These are in-memory member and property types, not a list of mandatory XML children. They retain array bounds, fixed buffers and selector types. The field reference above defines what is actually serialized.

Implementation details

The Implementation toggle contains only TBleedOptions methods. Initializers and helpers belonging to other types are identified separately below. Shared XML-helper limitations are explained in Reading this reference.

Declaration reproduces this record’s complete declaration from the supplied source, including its fields, properties and method signatures.

Enclosing initialization — TPdfPagesAttr

TPdfPagesAttr is an enclosing type. The following routine initializes its TBleedOptions member; it is not a method of TBleedOptions.
