This topic covers the implementation details of TMinicalHorizontalRec.
Scope: TypeDefinitions.pas; record. Prepared from the curated implementation supplied for this review on 2 October 2026.
UseVariableWidths gates seven RightEdge values and the other width/margin values. RightEdge IDs are 1–7. Doubles are written using Round(value×1000000) and read by division by 1000000; the measurement unit needs its consumer/UI specification.
Notation and shared helper rules: Reading this reference.
Literal rec_type values emitted within these routines: TMinicalHorizontalRec. Nested values may belong to child wrappers rather than this owner itself; the attribute entries below give their exact locations.
Exact XML fields and attributes
The paths below start at this record or property node. A slash identifies a child element; @ identifies an attribute. Curly braces mark a variable index or expression, not literal XML text. Initial values describe initialization; they do not establish what an omitted individual element does. The Implementation toggle below contains the supplied routines for exact branch order and conversions.
@rec_type
XML representation: The rec_type attribute.
Writing: Stores the literal text “TMinicalHorizontalRec” whenever the writer reaches this field.
UseVariableWidths
XML representation: The text of the UseVariableWidths element.
Reading: Reads the element into UseVariableWidths when the record node exists.
Writing: Stores true or false according to UseVariableWidths whenever the writer reaches this field.
RightEdge[@id={IntToStr (j)}]/@id
XML representation: The id attribute.
Writing: Stores the numeric value of j when UseVariableWidths is true; for each j from 1 through 7.
RightEdge[@id={IntToStr (j)}]
XML representation: The text of the RightEdge[@id={IntToStr (j)}] element.
Reading: Reads the stored number, divides it by 1000000.0, and assigns the result to RightEdge[j] when the record node exists; UseVariableWidths is true; for each j from 1 through 7. The temporary numeric value starts at 0 before reading.
Writing: Stores RightEdge[j] multiplied by 1000000, then rounded to an integer when UseVariableWidths is true; for each j from 1 through 7.
MinFromLeft
XML representation: The text of the MinFromLeft element.
Reading: Reads the stored number, divides it by 1000000.0, and assigns the result to MinFromLeft when the record node exists; UseVariableWidths is true. The temporary numeric value starts at 0 before reading.
Writing: Stores MinFromLeft multiplied by 1000000, then rounded to an integer when UseVariableWidths is true.
MinFromRight
XML representation: The text of the MinFromRight element.
Reading: Reads the stored number, divides it by 1000000.0, and assigns the result to MinFromRight when the record node exists; UseVariableWidths is true. The temporary numeric value starts at 0 before reading.
Writing: Stores MinFromRight multiplied by 1000000, then rounded to an integer when UseVariableWidths is true.
TextboxWidth
XML representation: The text of the TextboxWidth element.
Reading: Reads the stored number, divides it by 1000000.0, and assigns the result to TextboxWidth when the record node exists; UseVariableWidths is true. The temporary numeric value starts at 0 before reading.
Writing: Stores TextboxWidth multiplied by 1000000, then rounded to an integer when UseVariableWidths is true.
IndividualDaysWidth
XML representation: The text of the IndividualDaysWidth element.
Reading: Reads the stored number, divides it by 1000000.0, and assigns the result to IndividualDaysWidth when the record node exists; UseVariableWidths is true. The temporary numeric value starts at 0 before reading.
Writing: Stores IndividualDaysWidth multiplied by 1000000, then rounded to an integer when UseVariableWidths is true.
Initialization and reset values
This type has no separate initializer in the supplied code. Its starting values come from its enclosing object, inherited initialization, or existing state. Relevant enclosing initializers are identified below.
Enclosing initialization contexts
The following enclosing routines establish or override this record’s starting values. Follow the owner link for the complete initializer. Different enclosing objects can supply different defaults.
TMinicalParagraphStyleRec.Initialize is documented in TMinicalParagraphStyleRec.
Storage declarations relevant to interpretation
These are in-memory member and property types, not a list of mandatory XML children. They retain array bounds, fixed buffers and selector types. The field reference above defines what is actually serialized.

The Implementation toggle contains only TMinicalHorizontalRec methods. Initializers and helpers belonging to other types are identified separately below. Shared XML-helper limitations are explained in Reading this reference.
