26 Apr 2007 (Limun) Slovenian Minister of Public Administration Gregor Virant reminded the press at a press conference yesterday that the office hours of public administration are to change on May 1. According to the new office hours, public administration will work the first Saturday in a month, or, if the first Saturday is a national holiday, the second Saturday.The first Saturday when the public administration will work will be May 5.
29 Dec 2006 Slovenia will adopt the euro on the 1st of January 2007 at the rate of 239.640 tolars per euro, a rate fixed in July by ECOFIN ministers. From the 1st of January, Slovenians will be able to pay in euros or in tolars and receive the change in euros, until January 14. As from 15 January 2007 only euro cash will have the status of legal tender in Slovenia. However, afterwards, it will still be possible to exchange tolars free of charge at banks. Dual display of prices in euros and in tolars is compulsory since March 2006.

Weekend Public Holidays: Public holidays that occur on a weekend remain on that date (ie. they are not moved to another date, such as the following Monday, for example).
There are three other days on which there are commemorations, but the public does not get a day off work.
Thay are:
Prekmurje Incorporatino Day (August 17th),
Prekmurje Restoration Day (September 15th), and
Rudolf Maister Day (November 23rd).
