Moon phase symbol

A symbol, usually a wingding font character, specified in thethemoon phases tokens [mp] and [mt]settings, and representing the current phase of thechangedmoon, on the dates when the phase changes.

Moon phase everyday

Displays a symbol for the phase of the Moon, everyday. This token requires theoption to show 1/8 phases of the Moonto be turned on and a symbol to be defined for each of the 1/8 Moon phases, in thesun and moon display options.

Moon phase text

The text specified in thethemoon phases tokens [mp] and [mt]settings, corresponding to the current phase of thechangedmoon, on the dates when the phase changes.

Moon phase time

Displays the time on which a moon phase occurs.

Moonrise

Displays the time at which the moon rises, transits and sets every day.

 

By default, the times of moonrise and moonset are calculated when the upper limb of the Moon touches the horizon. This is the accepted standard, but you can specify that amoon data sourcebe calculatedusing a different convention

 

Note that on some days the moon will not rise or it will not set (never both). This occurs on average every 30 days, You should make sure that you specify what text, if any, to display on these occasions, using theno time settingof thesun and moon display options.

 

Advanced time and angle formatting

 

If you need more control over the formatting of thetime at which the moon rises, transits and sets, you can useplanetary tokens, where the Sun and the Moon are treated as planets, and which offer a wide range offormatting options.

Moon always above/below horizon

Some text or symbol, as specified in the theall day above/below horizon controlof themoon times tab of the moon and sun options, if the date of the token corresponds to a date when the Moon is always above the horizon (ie. does not set) or always below the horizon (ie. does not rise).

Moon in Zodiac

Displays information about the Moon entering a new Zodiac sign.

Moon Zodiac Symbol: displays a character, usually from a decorative font such asWingdings, which represents the current Zodiac sign. This token is converted to a blank on any day when there is no Moon Zodiacal event.

[mZ]

Moon Zodiac Symbol(first and last day): similar to the[mz]token, above, but shows the current Zodiac sign on the first and last days of a cycle.

[MZ]

Moon Zodiac Symbol(everyday): similar to the[mz]token, above, but shows the current Zodiac sign on everyday.

[mzn]

Moon Zodiac Name: displays the name of the Zodiac sign into which the Moon is entering. This token is converted to a blank on any day when there is no Moon Zodiacal event.

[mZn]

Moon Zodiac Name(first and last day): similar to the[mzn]token, above, but shows the current Zodiac name on the first and last days of a cycle.

[MZN]

Moon Zodiac Name(everyday): similar to the[mzn]token, above, but shows the current Zodiac names on everyday.

Moon Zodiac Time: displays the time at which the Moon enters a new Zodiac sign.

 

Reference time

 

By default,Moon in Zodiactokens are calculated based on the phase angle calculated at the end of the day (23:59:59.9999), which is the standard. To have the token based on the Moon phase angle calculated at a different time of the day, use acalculation time suffix.

Displays information about theMoonday, also known asTithiin Indian calendars.

Moon Day over 2 digits (01-30) with day 1 as the day of the New Moon.

Moon Day (1-30) with day 30 as the day of the New Moon.

Reference time

 

By default,theMoon daytokens is calculated based on the phase angle calculated at the end of the day (23:59:59.9999), which is the standard. To have the token based on the Moon phase angle calculated at a different time of the day,and/or to specify how the above tokens are displayed when there are 2 lunar dates in a given solar day (eg. 30/1 or 30-1 or 30+1, ...), use thelunar days options.
