Number of sara sequences exceeds limit

Scroll Prev Up Next More

This message occurs during diary generation if the total number of sequences of saras of the current script exceeds 999.

This number comes from the number of saras of the script, each multiplied by the number of disjoint page sequences to which it potentially applies.

Some aspects of a script that can cause the number of sequences of saras to balloon-up are:

1.Sara sets with 50 or more saras, particularly inside insertion blocks.

2.Saras which only apply to a selection of the pages of a template, as opposed to the default all template pages.

Usually this limit is never even remotely approached, even in scripts that mix many of the specificities above.

This message will not stop diary generation, but it means that the order in which the saras are processed is not guaranteed to be the one expected from looking at the list of saras in each saras set. If each one of your saras is independent of the others, then the effect leading to this message may be less noticeable, or not noticeable at all.

Solution 1

If point 2, above, applies to your script, then see if you can replace the specific page selections by saras that apply to all pages of the template.

Solution 2

Try to combine multiple saras into one by relaxing some of the search criteria, to address point 1 above.

Solution 3

If this remains an issue for one of your scripts, please contact technical support.
