Property of the script line: DiaryGridLines and Book Format (where it is called Global Saras).

Use this property to associate a SaraSet with each DiaryGridLine, and/or with the Book Format Global Sara script line.

In the properties inspector, selecting a Sara property displays a button letting you select a SaraSet to use for the current script line.

Additionally, if a SaraSet is already selected for the current script line, then a second button is available to open the currently selected SaraSet directly in the saras editor.

The Saras Editor allows you to edit Saras for the SaraSet you wish to use. Note that Q++Studio will ask you to confirm any modification made when you close the property editor. If you do not confirm, the SaraSet used to generate your diary will be the un-modified one.

Tokens in Saras

You can use global saras to display the value of global tokens in Quark Pages and/or Place Holders. This is useful to be able to apply copyright dates and/or reference/SKU numbers, using a global sara such as the ones below.

The FIND text can be a token but it can also be any text that you wish. The CHANGE side can be a combination of the tokens allowed in Global Saras as well as any plain text.

The global tokens that can be used are: script year token, year of now token, job/reference number token, and page number tokens.

Global Saras and Page Deletion

If your script contains page deletion, using delete page zap tokens, for example, then the page numbers that you select in the page selection field of the sara definition, as in the example on the right, should be based on page numbers before any pages are deleted.

During diary generation, the range of pages of the page selection field will be updated, automatically, in memory, to take into account the pages that are to be deleted.
