Background Information |
|
Governing Law: Official public holidays in Haïti are regulated by articles 107-119, in particular 110 and 111, of the Décret du 24 février 1984 actualisant le Code du travail du 12 septembre 1961 as modified by the Loi du jeudi 5 juin 2003 actualisant le Code du travail du 12 septembre 1961.
Working Holidays: The above-mentioned decrees and laws list some holidays as non-working (jours fériés chômés), and some as working holidays (jours fériés non chômés). Both specify that some of the working holidays could, at the President's discretion, be converted to non-working holidays on a case-by-case basis.
