Afghanistan Declares January 5th Public Holiday

An announcement by the presidential office of the Islamic State of Afghanistan, declared tomorrow, Sunday, January 5, 1997, a public holiday so that people can offer Estesqa (a prayer asking Almighty God to send rain).

The announcement was issued by Amir ol-Momenin (Mola Mohammad Omar) to coincide with the date of Jadi 16.
