Tomorrow, for the first time ever, Hong Kong will observe Buddha's Birthday as an official public holiday.
Less than 2 years ago, Hong Kong changed its August public holidays at the behest of its newly appointed Chief Executive (31-Jul-1997 and 20-Jun-1997), and the Buddha's Birthday was made into an official public holiday, earlier this year (09-Sep-1998).
