The government of Lebanon has declared May 25th as a new annual public holiday, to be named Resistance and Liberation Day.
This follows yesterday's announcement by Israel that it would withdraw all troops from southern Lebanon and completed its withdrawal on May 25, 2000, more than six weeks before the scheduled deadline of July 7.
