A deputy of Mexico's Chamber of Deputies (Cámara de Diputados), José del Carmen Enríquez Rosado, has introduced a draft law which would move some fixed-date public holidays to the following Monday.
The draft law, currently being considered by the Comisión de Trabajo y Previsión Social, would amend the artículo 74 de la Ley Federal del Trabajo by adding a paragraph that says that whenever the fixed-date public holidays of February 5, March 21, May 1st, and November 20, fall on any day other than a Monday (including Saturdays and Sundays), its legal observance would be moved to the following Monday.
