Turkmenistan's President, Saparmurat Niyazov, has issued a decree proclaiming a day off public holiday for Monday, December 17, 2001, on the occasion of this year's Uraza-Bairam (end of Ramadan) Muslim festival.
This is the 4th year in a row that the Uraza-Bairam (end of Ramadan) Muslim festival is observed as a non-working public holiday in Turkmenistan (12-Jan-1999 and 12-Jan-1998).
