Philippines Makes February 25 A Public Holiday

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has issued Proclamation No. 151 declaring February 25, 2002, as a special national public holiday.

This date marks the 16th anniversary of the EDSA People Power I, which toppled Ferdinand Marcos and restored democracy to the Philippines.
