Uganda Declares September 13 Census Start A Public Holiday

The Ugandan government has declared Friday, September 13, 2002, as a one-off public holiday to enable all citizens to effectively participate in the national census.

The aforementioned census will continue until Thursday, September 19, 2002.

Election-related public holidays are common in Uganda (13-Feb-2002, 25-Jun-2001, 09-Mar-2001, and 05-Nov-1997).
