The Kazakh government has passed a resolution which declares Friday, May 2, 2003, as a one-off bridge public holiday, to be observed jointly with the annual May 1st, People's Unity Day, public holiday which falls on a Thursday this year.

As is traditionally the case (14-Dec-2002, 14-Aug-2001, and 19-Apr-2001), and to compensate for the aforementioned additional public holiday, Sunday, May 4, 2003, has been declared a regular working day throughout Kazakhstan.
