France's Cabinet approved a plan to eliminate the Whit Monday annual holiday, to bring in more tax revenues to pay for better healthcare for the elderly and disabled.
The change, announced at the end of last year (06-Nov-2003), must still be approved by France's Parliament, but passage is virtually certain because of the current government has a wide majority in the Senate and the National Assembly.
