Ghana's Minister of the Interior, Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, has announced that Friday, December 3, 2004, would be the date of this year's Farmers' Day non-working public holiday.
The aforementioned announcement follows last month's announcement (25-Oct-2004), that this year's Farmers' Day had been moved to November 5, although the associated public holiday would still be observed on Friday, December 3, 2004, as per the usual observance rules.
A similar dissociation of the Farmers' Day events from the actual Farmers' Day non-working public holiday, has occurred, in the past (27-Oct-2000), as presidential elections in Ghana are set to the fixed date of December 7, every 4 years.
