Estonia's parliament has approved the Estonian Flag Act (RT I 2005, 20, 126) which amends the current legislation governing public holidays, days off, and national holidays in Estonia.
The aforementioned act amends the 1998 Public and National Holidays Act (RT I 1998, 13, 162) which overhauled the Estonian legislation governing public holidays and days off in Estonia (27-Jan-1998), as was later amended (11-Feb-1999 and 14-Apr-2004), by converting some of the existing annual national holidays into a new category of "Flag Days".
