Indonesia's Minister for manpower and transmigration, Fahmi Idris, has released the official list of Indonesian public holidays for the calendar year 2006.

As announced 2 years ago (26-Feb-2003) and first implemented last year (19-Jul-2004), rather than declaring bridge public holiday for Thursday public holidays, Indonesia has moved The Prophet's Birthday (Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW) public holiday from its Tuesday date to the previous Monday.

In addition, 3 days of joint leave (Cuti Bersama) were declared around the time of the End of Ramadan (Idul Fitri), giving Indonesians a 7-day period of public holidays, from October 23-29, 2006.
