Jordan Announces September 1st Public Holiday

Exceptionally, this year, Jordan will observe a public holiday on Thursday September 1, 2005, to mark Israa Wal Miraj (Prophet Mohammad's nocturnal journey to heaven).

All government departments and public institutions will be closed on that day.
