The House of Commons bill C-354, An Act to amend the Holidays Act (Remembrance Day) got its first reading, on September 26, 2006, to make November 11 a legal holiday observed throughout Canada.
Part of the bill stipulates that when November 11 is a Sunday, November 12 would be a legal holiday observed throughout Canada.
