Today, President George W. Bush, signed Congress' Bill 5 U.S.C. 6103(a), which would make every November 11 an official public holiday in the US.
The bill clearly states that this takes effect in 2006, but it is not likely to have an immediate effect, as November 11, 2006 is a Saturday, and the bill does not mention what happens when November 11 falls on a weekend. We will continue to monitor developments and post any updates here.
