Zambia's Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Labour, Ngosa Chisupa, has re-iterated that Thursday, September 28, 2006, was a gazetted public holiday in Zambia and warned employers who did not abide by this public holiday of "stern action".
Earlier this month (11-Sep-2006), the government of Zambia had declared Thursday, September 28, 2006, as a one-off public holiday, to enable as many Zambians as possible to cast their votes in the upcoming tripartite elections.
