Algeria To Consider Electoral Public Holidays

Legislative and municipal elections in Algeria are scheduled to take place during the months of May and October, and the Algerian Electoral Commission has recommended that the day of the legislative elkections be made an official public holiday in Algeria.


President Abdelaziz Belkhadem also announced in Algiers, yesterday, that the referendum on amendment of Algeria's constitution would happen in 2007. The amendment of the current constitution is aimed at enhancing the president's power as well as putting an end to the current two presidential terms limit.
