The Haut-Commissariat à l’Amazighité has officially seized the highest instances of the Algerian State to have the Imazigen holiday of Yennayer (Berber New Year, January 12 or 13) added to the list of official Algerian public holidays, as specified by law n°63/278 of July 26, 1963, as amended and expanded by ordinances n°66/153 and n°68/149.
