The goverment of Azerbaijan has announced that tomorrow, Saturday, January 20, 2007, would be a non-working day to commemorate the 1990 invasion of Azerbaijan by Russia.
As Saturdays are already non-working days in Azerbaijan, the decree will have little concrete effect on business life, as it apparently is not covered by the 2005 "law on amendments to the Labour Code" which legislates that an additional non-working Monday public holiday would henceforth be declared, whenever a public holiday falls on a weekend day (30-Dec-2005).
