January 21, 2007, has been declared a public holiday in Bahrain, on the occasion of the Hijra New Year, as Hijra New Year in Bahrain is predicted to occur on Saturday January 20.
With the Bahraini law stipulating compensation for the off days that fall on Friday or Saturday, this means the this public holiday will be observed on the following Sunday.
