Bhutan Confirms Extent Of Upcoming Election Public Holidays

Bhutan's Electoral Commission has confirmed that the date of the upcoming polling day for the National Council election, December 31, would be a public holiday throughout Bhutan, except for the Thimphu, Haa, Gasa, Lhuentse and Trashiyangtse dzongkhags, where the election has been postponed.

Election officials, as per their original announcement (24-Oct-2007), said that the organisations and employers should allow a day leave to those voters, who are registered outside the five dzongkhags.
