Brazil Public Holidays News Update

(Posted on Sunday, February 11, 2007)

Source: Maracaju News

Over the last few days, many state, local and municipal governments have re-affirmed the status of ponto facultativo, for their civil servants, on the occasion of Carnival (February 19 to 21).

For many of these civil servants, though, the last day, February 21, Ash Wednesday, will only be a half day off, as, according to tradition, they will be returning to work at 13:00 or 14:00.
