Earlier today, the Chinese government made official its draft plan of November 9, to overhaul its public holidays system, without any amendments.
The proposed overhaul, unveiled last month (09-Nov-2007), was submitted to an informal, non-binding poll (17-Nov-2007), and approved by the State Council earlier this month (10-Dec-2007), will see the cancellation of one Golden Week of public holidays and the addition of more traditional public holidays.
