El Salvador's assembly has been asked to revise the public sector's public holidays law by enshrining the concept of bridge holidays begun on a case-by-case basis this year.
If implemented, the law would make a one-off, bridge public holiday, any Monday that is followed by a Tuesday public holiday, or any Friday that is preceded by a Thursday public holiday. As compensation, the Saturday of the week-end preceding the bridge holiday weekend, would be a normal working day.
