El Salvador To Officialize Civil Servants' Bridge Holidays For Next Year

(Posted on Tuesday, May 1, 2007)

Source: elsalvador.com (San Salvador)

El Salvador's assembly has been asked to revise the public sector's public holidays law by enshrining the concept of bridge holidays begun on a case-by-case basis this year.

If implemented, the law would make a one-off, bridge public holiday, any Monday that is followed by a Tuesday public holiday, or any Friday that is preceded by a Thursday public holiday.

As compensation, as was done in the past (20-Apr-2007), the Saturday of the week-end preceding the bridge holiday weekend, would be a normal working day.
